In accordance with State of Michigan Governor Executive Order 2020-21, all Village of Kalkaska employees on roster as of midnight March 30th, 2020 are hereby designated as Critical infrastructure employees, and are directed to report to work as directed by their supervisors, to continue providing critical services including water production, water distribution, sewer collection, wastewater treatment, or, law enforcement/Public safety for our community.

However, to fully effect compliance with the Governor's Executive Order, Village of Kalkaska employees who are not directly involved in water production, water distribution, sewer collection, wastewater treatment, or law enforcement/Public Safety are hereby directed and will be accommodated to work from a remote location to the greatest extent possible, traveling to Village of Kalkaska offices only when it is necessary to provide essential support functions such as payroll, bill tabulation and payment.

The Kalkaska Village Office remains closed to the public. Please utilize the After Hours Drop Box for all utility payments. This will be checked daily and all payments will be processed. Please contact the Village Office at 258-9191 with any inquiries.

Planning and Zoning Commission Vacancy

The Village of Kalkaska's Planning Commission is seeking a community-oriented individual to fill a vacant seat on the Commission. Responsibilities of Planning Commissioner include: development of Village Master Plan and Recreation Plan; recommendation of ordinances, amendments to existing ordinances, zoning changes and site plan developments; and general advisement to Council in regard to the proper physical development of the Village of Kalkaska. This vacancy must be filled by a Village resident. Interested parties please inquire at the Village Office, located at 200 Hyde Street, or call 231-258-9191.
